The event is a celebration of visual effects, animation and computer games and will appeal to professionals, students and anyone with an interest in films, VFX and animation. This year’s festival will feature presentations by the world’s leading studios, including Pixar, Disney, Industrial Light and Magic and DreamWorks Animation. It will also showcase the work produced during the 2015 BFX Competition, which saw eight teams from universities across the UK produce films for two charities; The Anthony Nolan Trust and Dyslexia Action.
WiFi provided by C4L
C4L is delivering WiFi for the duration of the festival to provide the delegates and presenters with optimum environments to stream their work. C4L already provides high speed internet connectivity, both fixed and wireless, directly into the hosting BIC venue from County Gates House where it connects them to a multi-homed internet service.
Exhibitions and Festival
During the festival there are opportunities to view an exhibition of concept art from the hit animation movie Big Hero 6, direct from the vaults of Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The Festival will kick off with BFX Pro – one day featuring industry-based research into emergent technologies, including Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Cloud and Pipeline. The day will feature professionals from some of the world’s most highly respected digital production studios and software developers, including Pixar, MPC, Amazon and C4L’s own Matt Hawkins.
Peter Truckel, the Director of The VFX Hub at Bournemouth University and Sofronis Efstathiou the BFX Festival Director said they were thrilled to have C4L as a partner again this year, especially as the locally based company is now such an important player in the world of data and fibre, supplying services to some of the UK’s leading VFX studios.
