A cost-effective Window 10 training programme to ensure the success of a trust-wide roll out programme.
Dorset HealthCare is the largest provider of healthcare in Dorset, with responsibility for all mental health and many physical health services, delivering across hospital and community-based settings.
The trust has decided to roll out Windows 10 as its client operating system in 2018. With over 5000 different devices to update, this is acknowledged as likely to present a significant challenge to the IT department. The total number of IT staff who will be involved is substantial. They will all need to have the right skills to ensure the project is a success.
iDevelop delivered a multi-levelled, multi-site training programme to all staff who needed to enhance their Windows 10 skills. Two, three-hour foundation training sessions were delivered at the trust’s Shelley Road location to a total of 15 people. These sessions were repeated for a further 15 people at the trust’s Dorchester site. Finally, the full three-day Windows 10 workshop was delivered to four key staff members at iDevelop’s dedicated training centre in Poole.
The entire IT department were included in a cost-effective training programme, ensuring that everyone at the trust who would be responsible for delivering the roll out and providing ongoing Windows 10 support had a solid foundation in the new operating system. With key staff trained to a higher level, the trust could be sure that there was always an appropriate resource available to cover the project’s more complex requirements.
