When devices fail, they sometimes can’t be cost-effectively repaired. Even at this final stage, their disposal needs to be carefully planned and executed.
IDE Group ensures that the process of disposal is managed professionally, securely and in full compliance with electronic waste disposal regulations.

Certified data destruction
Certified electronic waste disposal
IDE Group will ensure that data on the device that needs to be retained is removed, encrypted and securely stored. All data is then wiped from the device in accordance to recognised industry best practice. All forms of storage, drives, RAM and ROM, are wiped multiple times so there is no chance of any data remaining. A certificate is produced confirming that the device’s data has been destroyed.
The device is then removed and destroyed, with secure destruction and compliance to electronic waste disposal regulations proven through further certification.
At this point the device is marked on the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) as retired. Reports derived from the CMDB will provide insight into how the asset has performed throughout its complete lifecycle.
